  5.     The 20th Century saw a lot of warfare between countries. 
  6. There were two global wars followed by a bunch of smaller 
  7. conflicts. A lot of horrible weapons were also invented. Many 
  8. were tested and some were actually used with horrifying results.

  10.     Global power got split three ways. The evil nations with the 
  11. United States as the most powerful militarily, The wonderful 
  12. communist block with Russia and Red China as the key powers, and 
  13. the third world countries of greedy people out to destroy the 
  14. environment.

  16.     Your Glorious Leaders started screaming to form the Peace 
  17. movement. We were scared of all of those horrible new weapons. We 
  18. went crazy over the thought of "Gas Warfare". We screamed and 
  19. lobbied for the elimination of such weapons.

  21.      Even more horrible was the thought of biological warfare. 
  22. There was great panic of some terrible new disease being released 
  23. into the environment. Aids could have been such an experiment 
  24. that gone wrong. Your Glorious Leaders produced Movies such as 
  25. the Andromeda Strain to warn sensible people to stop research in 
  26. this area.

  28.     Finally, the thought of nuclear war was the most frightening 
  29. of all. Your Glorious Leaders really gained a lot of followers 
  30. when the movie companies made films such as "The Day After" and 
  31. "Threads". People really rallied around the peace cause when they 
  32. learned that a nuclear war could result in nuclear winter and the 
  33. possible destruction of the planet.

  35.     The fear of nuclear energy was so great that protest rallies 
  36. formed everywhere. Military bases were picketed. Nuclear power 
  37. plants were shut down. We screamed to get nuclear weapons 
  38. destroyed.

  40.     Anti nuclear demonstrations were held at Cape Canaveral when 
  41. Your Glorious Leaders learned that Plutonium was being used to 
  42. provide power for deep range space probes.

  44.     Your Glorious Leaders made sure that the Enola Gay display 
  45. at the Smithsonian was designed to show just how evil nuclear war 
  46. is and how awful it was to bomb Japan with such awful weapons.

  48.     Your Glorious Leaders screamed about the waste of spending 
  49. money for Star Wars research. We blocked the B-70 project. We 
  50. hollered about the expense of the B-2. There was much screaming 
  51. and terror over the thought of MX and Midgetmen missiles. We 
  52. hollered about cruse missiles. We didn't want any in our back 
  53. yards.

  55.     When the Battleship Iowa suffered a gun turret explosion, 
  56. Your Glorious Leaders hollered that all big guns were dangerous. 
  57. We screamed about the air force planes crashing. And, We hollered 
  58. that the country didn't need a huge defense budget, Aircraft 
  59. carriers and nuclear subs. Your Glorious Leaders wanted that 
  60. money used for Peace".

  62.     When the wondrous Bill Clinton was elected President, That 
  63. awful greedy military budget was slashed. All of those evil 
  64. battleships were mothballed got good.

  66.     Your Glorious Leaders pushed hard to eliminate nuclear 
  67. weapons. "After all", We said, "there will be peace if there are 
  68. no nuclear weapons left.

  70.     The Panic Society does not have such a problem. There are no 
  71. weapons of war anywhere. There are no people killed and injured 
  72. because of warfare. There are no weapons, bombs, poison gases, 
  73. biological agents, or anything else that can be used to make war 
  74. on anyone.

  110.     The reason that the Russians are no longer a threat is due 
  111. to the Reagan years. Ronald Reagan built up and modernized the 
  112. arm forces of this country. He also started the Star Wars 
  113. project, a project who purpose was to render attack by missiles 
  114. as useless. Anti War Extremist protested loudly. however, this 
  115. buildup forced the Russians to try to keep pace. They couldn't. 
  116. The results have been that the Russians have had to give their 
  117. Eastern European Satellites their freedom.

  119.     Your Glorious Leaders are constantly screaming that 10% of 
  120. the Defense Department budget should be earmarked for peace. They 
  121. refuse to believe that 100% of the Defense Department budget goes 
  122. for the purpose of keeping us at peace by making it too costly 
  123. for an aggressor ever to declare war on the U.S. in the first 
  124. place.

  126.     If Liberals succeed in disarming the democratic countries of 
  127. the world, The Panic Society will be destroyed before it ever 
  128. gets a chance to form. The communist countries or a Saddam 
  129. Hussain, will promptly take control. All Panic People will be 
  130. locked up in the nuthouse. Everyone else will be under Communist 
  131. or Facist control. All will suffer from the shoddy product, the 
  132. shortages of food, etc. There will be no free world countries to 
  133. buy food from to feed the masses. It will then be too late to do 
  134. anything about defense.

  136.     The only way to have peace is to be strong militarily. They 
  137. will never declare war if they cannot win. The Defense Department 
  138. budget is a budget for peace. not war.
